Pheasant Hunt
 

Attention everyone!! Fishpoint Wilidlife Association and Muzzy Pheasant Farms is putting on a fundraising pheasant hunt!! The hunt will be on March 3, 2018 at 9:00 A.M. Please be aware that there is a maximum of 30 hunters for this hunt. Coffee and Doughnuts will be provided in the morning. Before the hunt, we will get some practice shooting sporting clays. 10 birds will be released per hunter. This hunt will be a tower hunt, with two hunters per tower. After the morning hunt we will break for lunch, which is provided. After lunch there will be a clean up hunt in the fields for any birds that were missed in the morning hunt. If you have field dogs you are welcome to bring them. Once the hunt is over, bird cleaning will be provided for you. Total cost per hunter is $250.00. A deposit of $100.00 is due by February 16, 2018. Please send your payment to Kevin Hollingshead at 6263 Greenview Dr, Burton MI, 48509. Make checks payable to Fishpoint Wildlife Association. Along with your payment be sure to include the number of people in your hunting party as well as their names. Remember there is only room for 30 hunters so please express your interest as soon as possible to be sure to reserve a space!!

 
Hunter Numbers from 2018 Season
 

Ok everyone the totals are in from the 2017 duck hunting season at the Fish Point Managed Hunting area. There were 6,297 hunters. 6,451 ducks were taken, and 414 geese were taken. Hopefully the 2018 season will be just as successful!

 
Oregano Pheasant
 
  • 2 Pheasants, cut into serving pieces
  • All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 - 1/2 cup or butter or margarine
  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can of cream of mushroom soup with roasted garlic and herbs, undiluted
  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can of cream of chicken soup, undiluted
  • 1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, rinsed and drained
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Dredge pheasant in flour. Meanwhile, melt butter in 9x13 inch baking dish in 325 degree oven. Place pheasant in dish, cover and bake at 325 degrees for one hour. Combine soups, mushrooms, oregano, garlic, sour cream, wine, salt and pepper. Turn pheasant pieces and pour sauce over pheasant. Bake, uncovered, for one hour or until tender.
